Today, I turn 27 years old.
I’ve never been more confident in myself than I am today. It’s not about walking into a room thinking you’re better than everyone, it’s about walking in and not having to compare yourself to anyone at all. To be truly content with yourself, your decisions and how you’re living your life. I recently realized that I needed to make more time to focus on what I love to do and what makes me ‘happy’ more than focusing on what others want from me. This realization has allowed me to focus on my values, worth and what my standards are in all aspects of my professional/personal relationships.
There’s a saying that I feel I’ve finally made happen for myself:
“Find three hobbies you love:
- One to make you money
- One to keep you in shape
- One to be creative”
Other than my day to day job, I’ve started a few side businesses this year of which I’m proud of myself. I never thought I was the entrepreneur type until I really dove in and pushed to make something of myself. I’ve regained my love for working out, but in a fun way. I’ve been working on growing my aerial skills so I can one day become a true aerialist; it’s a growing passion of mine and something I thoroughly enjoy. Lastly, this blog…. It allows me to be creative in ways I can’t always put out there in person. I reflect back to the vision board I created earlier this year and am so proud of the work i’ve done to accomplish some of those goals I had set for myself.
Over the years, I’ve pushed myself to really break boundaries and learn new techniques so that I could gain invaluable experiences. Reflecting back on my past 26 years, I know that this year is going to be something really special. I have goals. Goals not only for myself, but for my husband and my loved ones (friends and family). I’m ready to make some changes or… to be the change.
Kisses Kiah stands for so much more than just a blog. Its purpose is to motivate, teach and provide life tips, tricks and laughter to the many. My goal is to make this a place people come to for advice or inspiration to help create the life they want; to feel confident in themselves. I want to build a community, establish a strong brand, empower men and women and help where I can. This is not just a wish, but a goal that I know I can achieve.
Meghan Markle once said: “I’ve never wanted to be a lady who lunches, I’ve always wanted to be a woman who works. And this type of work is what feeds my soul and fuels my purpose.” I may seem like I’m juggling a lot of things from time to time, but my side jobs, my aerial goals, this blog and my overall ideas of where I can take the Kisses Kiah brand…..that is what fuels my purpose and I know it’s only the beginning.
I’ll leave you with this, when you wake up tomorrow morning, if you didn’t wake up with some goals for yourself then go back to sleep. You should always want more for yourself and be motivated to meet your own challenges. When you learn how much you’re worth, you’ll stop giving people discounts.
